Cycling Bergamo - Episode 03 - Parzanica

The province of Bergamo boasts two large bodies of water on its territory. Lake Iseo, shared with the province of Brescia, and Lake Endine. While not as well known as Como and Garda, both Iseo and Endine are certainly richer in nature and less frequented by cars, making them perfect for visiting by bike.

Lake Iseo experienced a few weeks of global notoriety in 2016, when artist Christo created "The Floating Piers".

This installation consisted a network of floating piers open to the public put in place between Sulzano, Montisola and the island of San Paolo.

This installation brought in more than a million visitors. On the day of its inauguration, the eyes of the world were on this small lake in northern Italy, an art installation that made history and not just for the artist Christo Jeanne-Claude.

On Iseo's western shore lies the small village of Parzanica. The climb to get there starts right after the Tavernola cement plant. Totalling 8 km, 11 switchbacks, a consistent gradient and the rare chance of meeting any traffic. It is a real pleasure to do in the saddle and taking in the spectacular views of the lake.

The only water fountain is in the village of Tavernola.

So if you tackle it during the warmer months remember to resupply here, because the sun beats down from morning to night, generally without wind, and the heat can be unbearable.

Once in Parzanica you have three options.

The first involves continuing on the "Green Road" which stays on the coast until Vigolo and then descends again to Tavernola.

Alternatively once you reach Vigolo, you can take the road in the direction of Adrara San Rocco. With about 17 km of climbing, the final stretch is unpaved and it summits the other side of the mountain. Then take the descent from Colli di San Fermo.

Third and final option: descend down Parzanica and once you reach the lake head towards Lovere. Once past the village of Riva di Solto, the scenery becomes even more impressive. Sheer walls overhang the lake that frame the historic road leading north of the lake.

Baia del Bogn and Orrido di Castro are among the most striking areas along the way

During the summer we suggest stopping and taking a dip!

Once in Lovere, Diciotto 10 is our top choice for a quick quality lunch. Alternatively, you can enjoy a focaccia at Gastronomia di Paris. And if it it's a Saturday, the weekly market in Piazzale Aldo Moro always has delicacies to eat.

Michele has always been a person without half-measures: for him everything is either black or white, and he has always faced life head-on.

On the bike he was not born on it, but discovered it out of necessity: it has been his means of transportation between home and work for many, many years, but since he discovered that riding is the best cure for the mind, he has never gotten off the bike.

In his youth he always divided his life between skateboarding (even achieving national fame) and the main nightclubs in North of Italy, where at a 180 bpm threshold, he was able to dance all night. But then came a family and now 180 BPM is achieved only in the saddle.

Cinelli's Pressure was a turning point. This model signified a return to road racing for the brand, something that had been missing for more than 30 years. But Cinelli has always had racing in its DNA.

The exploits of its legendary riders and the creation of the most iconic frames in cycling history are indelible.

That's why they felt it necessary to go back to the basics, starting with a frame developed for professionals.

The Pressure's carbon fiber monocoque frame weighs 990 grams and has a geometry designed for speed.

It falls into the category of aerodynamic frames.

Designed with fully integrated cable routing, the frameset comes with the Vision Metron integrated bar and stem. Available for disc brakes only, it can run both mechanical and electronic groupsets.

The frame is available in five sizes, a Rock the White colorway (as well as U23 Team Colpack livery), it can be purchased as a frameset or complete bike.

We are offering our customers the chance to custom build the frame with their preferred groupset, wheels and accessories.

In addition, we have some frames and complete bikes available now and ready to ship.
