The New Verticale SLR

The Super Lightweight Frame by Wilier Triestina

The new Verticale SLR joins the lineup, replacing a Wilier icon, the Zero SLR. It’s not just an ultra-lightweight, high-end frame, but one that offers improved performance and enhanced technical features.

This frame boasts an 8% better stiffness-to-weight ratio compared to the model it replaces. It is not just a climbing frame: the Verticale SLR is a true "All-Rounder," aerodynamically optimized and stiff enough to delight even high-power riders.

Frame Details

A monocoque construction using "Active Molding" technology and Toray T800, T1100, and M46 JB carbon fiber. Over 400 pre-preg carbon fiber sheets of high and ultra-high modulus are used in the construction of the Verticale SLR. The result is a frame weighing only 648 g in size M, but stiff enough not to be shunned by sprinters.

New is the seat clamp, better integrated into the frame’s design.

The Verticale also features a repositionable front derailleur mount, allowing the flexibility to install larger chainrings (up to 55 teeth). Also new is the concept of the rear dropout, which is already UDH compatible.

The Fork

The evolution certainly doesn’t stop at the frame. The Verticale SLR fork weighs only 296 g and is asymmetrical, with an enlarged left brake-side leg, a detail useful for better managing the forces from even the most extreme braking.

A lot of work has been done on the fork crown, which is tapered and integrates the steering bearing seat.

V-Bar Cockpit

The integrated cockpit design, provided with the Verticale, has also been improved. A true monocoque product, it tips the scales at only 310 g.

A new shape developed with Wilier-sponsored teams, which requested a reduced handlebar width at the lever mounting points. Moving towards the handlebar ends, the width increases by 30 mm.

An integrated cockpit that is stiffer, lighter, and better at dissipating vibrations.

V-Bar comes with a dedicated aluminum computer mount, very clean and elegant.

The Seatpost

Also completely new is the seatpost, available with 0 mm or 15 mm setback. Its reduced diameter greatly influences the frame kit’s design. Lighter than the previous model, now it also offers the possibility to mount a rear light.

Lightweight

The frame alone, before painting, weighs only 648 g in size M, a 15% reduction compared to its predecessor.

The weight reduction also extends to the components of the kit. For example, the new fork now weighs only 296 g. Weight reduction also affects the handlebars, seatpost, and aluminum thru-axles.

The Right Size

Wilier Verticale SLR is available in 6 frame sizes paired with 6 handlebar sizes. There is also the option to select a seatpost with either 15 mm or 0 mm setback.

Compared to the Zero SLR (0 SLR), the Verticale SLR has some changes in geometry. While the stack remains almost unchanged, the Reach measurements are increased compared to the past. This choice is backed by many tests and trials with professional cyclists who have confirmed this direction. This decision also involves revising the geometries of the dedicated V-Bar cockpit for this model.
