V Colnago Series: The Frame That Made History

V Colnago Series: The Frame That Made History

Back

Colnago introduced the V series of carbon frames in 2014.

These high-end monocoque frames were developed for the most demanding cyclists who pay great attention to the weight-to-performance ratio.

V1-r

The V1-r was the first model of the V Colnago series, launched in 2014.

This groundbreaking frame was developed through critical aerodynamic studies, with sections designed in wind tunnels to minimize aerodynamic drag.

The V1-r marked a special collaboration with the Ferrari automotive company, highlighted by the Cavallino Rampante logo featured on various parts of the frame.

V2-r

Launched in 2017, the V2-r represented a further evolution of the V Colnago series.

This frame was optimized to offer greater rigidity, improved aerodynamics, and an appealing appearance.

With features such as advanced carbon resin, integrated seat clamp, and a more robust and rigid seat cluster, the V2-r set new performance standards in cycling.

V3-rs

In 2019, the V3Rs was introduced, an even lighter and stiffer model.

This frame was designed for cyclists seeking pure performance, both in flat races and mountain stages. Examples of its success include Tadej Pogačar's victories in the 2020 and 2021 Tour de France on a V3Rs.

V4Rs

In 2022, Colnago unveiled the new V4Rs, primarily focused on enhancing aerodynamics while maintaining the tradition of being an excellent racing bike.

The V4Rs, in addition to increased stiffness and refined aerodynamics, is introduced with numerous improvements, starting with the new cable integration system, now ensured by the adoption of a circular (and no longer D-shaped) fork steerer, and a larger 1'¼ headset diameter.

This choice led to a new head tube design, improving stiffness and aerodynamics once again. The new fork is more intuitive in its road behavior and allows, as does the rear triangle, a tire clearance of 32mm.
