The new Colnago Y1Rs was always going to draw plenty of attention on its own, but for a longtime Canadian client of ours, that was only the starting point — he wanted a version that was entirely his own. Sizing came down to a call between two frame sizes; his flexibility and ease getting into an aggressive aero position tipped the scales toward the smaller L, paired with a longer-than-usual stem for the reach he needed. From there, the upgrades kept coming: Carbon-Ti chainrings and aero rotors, a CeramicSpeed OSPW system, and a Bikone BSA ceramic bottom bracket in UAE Team gold, alongside Shimano's Dura-Ace 9200 with power meter and Scope Artech 6 wheels. The result is a build as exclusive as it is fast — and, knowing this client, likely still a work in progress.
