Replicating a rider’s preferred geometry on a highly exclusive frame requires a practical, hands-on approach. An enthusiast from Austria reached out via email, deeply inspired by the Tour de France heritage of the limited-edition Colnago Y1RS and seeking expert advice on sizing. To translate his exact fit parameters onto the XL chassis, our workshop team went beyond standard calculations. We initially mocked up the setup with a 105x397mm cockpit and a zero-setback seatpost, documented the live measurements directly from the workshop floor, and shared the data with the client. This collaborative process allowed us to confidently finalize the cockpit and saddle position. The complete bike was outfitted with a premium SRAM Red AXS groupset with a Quarq power meter and paired with aerodynamic Enve SES 4.5 wheels. To ensure a seamless unboxing experience, we shipped the 7.870g machine in an oversized crate with the handlebar fully installed.
