The CL-SL110 are the yellow cleats of Shimano’s new SPD-SLR system, and for most riders they’re the most balanced choice. They offer 6° of total float, 3° each side, with a front pivot. The heel is free to move while the forefoot stays anchored to the pedal, so the knees can find their natural alignment without giving up the engagement precision you expect from a high-end race system.
Closer to the pedal
Stack height is ultra-low: the shoe sits closer to the pedal axle, making power transfer more direct and stable. The SPD-SLR platform creates full contact between cleat and pedal body, and you feel the difference when you’re out of the saddle and when you kick to accelerate. The shoe’s pitch angle is also flatter, so the foot moves naturally within the float range.
Easy setup, more confident walking
Lateral cleat positioning is simpler, letting you set foot alignment with precision. Fore-aft adjustment depends on the shoe. The thinner rear section of the cleat prevents the “toe-up” effect and makes walking easier, from the coffee stop to the car park.
Compatibility
The CL-SL110 fit all SPD-SL-compatible 3-bolt shoes. They work only with Shimano SPD-SLR pedals and are not compatible with SPD-SL pedals. Check which system you’re running before you buy.
