Darimo Not Round Carbon Seatpost | Colnago V5Rs
Built for Colnago's current WorldTour flagship, this not-round seatpost replaces the original component and cuts weight in one of the most performance-critical areas of the bike. On a race-day frame like the V5Rs, saving weight at the seatpost and saddle — positioned high above the ground — measurably reduces the pendulum effect, sharpening handling exactly when it matters most: out of the saddle, on the attack.
Ultra-Lightweight Design
At just around 95 g in the 350 mm straight version, this carbon seatpost is built from advanced bidirectional and unidirectional carbon fabrics, with an asymmetrical laminate designed to strike the ideal balance between lightweight performance and maximum strength — race-bike weight without race-day compromise.
Hand-Laminated for Strength Where It Matters
Every seatpost is hand-laminated to reach a genuinely record-low weight while maintaining durability and rider safety. Each section of the post uses a specific number and orientation of carbon fiber layers, determined through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and destructive testing — reliability and cutting-edge performance in the same component, not one at the expense of the other.
Revolutionary Clamping System
The new clamping system on straight versions uses two ultralight Dyneema® loops, drastically reducing weight in the clamping area while ensuring full compatibility with all saddle rail types, including 7x9 mm carbon saddle rails.
Choosing the Right Seatpost Length
Measure the exposed length of your current seatpost from the top of the seat clamp (top of the vertical tube) to the center of the saddle rails, then select the corresponding size from the chart provided. If two sizes fit, factor in rider variability and intended use. For special needs, custom lengths up to 500 mm (or longer) can be made on request — contact us for details.
