The G5-X is Colnago's new-generation gravel bike. It is not an evolution of the G4-X but an entirely new gravel platform, developed from an in-depth analysis of how modern gravel riders ride and what they need from their bike. It combines speed and efficiency with the ability to handle any terrain, whether the day is a race, a long ride or a bikepacking adventure.
The G5-X is rooted in Colnago's off-road legacy. In cyclocross, the brand has achieved unmatched dominance, securing countless victories. Among the most notable are Sven Nys' six Cyclocross World Championships and Wout Van Aert's two World Championship titles earned aboard Colnago bikes.
On the G5-X, Colnago's experience in high-performance cycling meets its distinctive craftsmanship. The result is a platform that brings together advanced technology, refined engineering and meticulous attention to detail.
Built for the Modern Gravel Rider
The G5-X was designed to go further. It is not built around a single number. It is built around the different ways riders use their gravel bikes:
- Racing
- Long days in the saddle
- Bikepacking
- Mixed terrain, from tarmac to rough tracks
Nominal tire clearance increases from 45 mm (G4-X) to 53 mm, with 6 mm of clearance. The bike comes standard with Colnago's CC.01 Wide integrated cockpit with fully integrated cables. The 27.2 mm round seatpost makes the frame potentially compatible with dropper posts, and the threaded BSA 68 mm bottom bracket keeps maintenance simple.
Storage and Mounting Points
The down tube houses an internal storage compartment, accessible through a removable Colnago plate. The plate accepts traditional bottle cages or the FIDLOCK® system, and three FIDLOCK® Twistlock mounts are included. The bag and repair kit are not included.
The G5-X has six mounting points: two standard bottle cage mounts, one under the down tube, one on the top tube and two on the fork for bottle or cargo cages.
The frame is UDH compatible. It accepts 1x chainrings up to 50T. With 2x drivetrains it takes all gravel chainrings, and on the road side it takes compact and super-compact only.
