Wilier Supersonica SLR – The Next-Generation Time Trial and Triathlon Frameset
The Wilier Supersonica SLR frameset represents the new frontier of aerodynamics applied to time trial and triathlon bikes. Compared to the previous Turbine SLR frameset, the Supersonica SLR improves aerodynamic efficiency by almost 16%*, a result achieved through an unprecedented research and development programme at Wilier.
Research and Development: the numbers speak for themselves
Behind the Supersonica SLR lie 2 prototypes, dozens of kilograms of 3D-printed components, over 50 hours of computer simulation, and 30 hours of physical testing split between the Silverstone wind tunnel (UK), a Swiss velodrome, and the roads of Belgium. The project was developed in under a year in collaboration with the Wilier Innovation Lab and the Groupama-FDJ team.
A technological revolution engineered by Wilier
The Supersonica SLR was born from direct collaboration with some of the strongest athletes in the world, including champion Stefan Küng. The result is a frameset that combines:
- Revised geometry to maximize aerodynamic riding position
- Class-leading aerodynamic efficiency
- Optimized stiffness for maximum power transfer
- New, improved integrated aero handlebar
Custom Extensions
The Supersonica SLR's aero extensions can be custom-made using optical forearm scanning, available in 3D-printed titanium or high-performance laminated carbon. The frameset is supplied complete with Profile Design ASC Pro extensions.
