A very special 6.8 kg Colnago Y1Rs dream build
Some bikes are special. Others tell a much bigger story.
This Colnago Y1Rs was recently built for one of our loyal customers, with a very clear goal from the start, creating an exclusive bike as close as possible to the UCI weight limit, while keeping the aerodynamic advantage of one of the most radical modern race platforms.

The inspiration came from the now iconic approach seen with UAE Team Emirates and Tadej Pogačar, proving that an aero bike, if built with enough attention, can also become an incredibly light and effective machine.
That same idea guided this project.

The first major step was the frame. We removed the original paint and created a very minimal finish with white logos and a light transparent protective layer only, with an estimated weight saving of around 180 grams compared to a standard painted frame.
From there, every component was selected to reduce weight, improve performance and increase exclusivity.

The build features a Campagnolo Super Record 13 groupset upgraded with Ultra components, including a power meter crankset, which makes the final 6.8 kg result even more remarkable, a stunning set of Partington MK2 wheels at only 1,160 grams per pair, a Darimo seatpost made specifically for the Y1Rs, an Alpitude Gardena saddle, Carbon-Ti Aero rotors, a Carbon-Ti UDH hanger, lightweight Ergal bolts, and even custom Grade 5 titanium thru-axles, machined from solid material and laser-engraved with the customer’s name.

But a project like this is never just about parts.
Before the final assembly, the focus was already on finding the right frame size, cockpit dimensions, spacer stack and seatpost setback, because a true dream build must first of all fit the rider perfectly.
The final result is a Colnago Y1Rs built with an extreme level of care, light, fast, unique, and deeply personal.
This is exactly what we love to do.
If you have your own dream build in mind, we’ll be happy to help make it real.
