A Y1Rs dream build with a deadline — and a very specific one at that. The customer, based in the UK, wrote to us with a clear brief: secure a Colnago Y1Rs in the right size and colour in time for an Italian cycling trip, with collection directly from our store. We moved first on the frame, holding it with a deposit while the rest of the build took shape around it. The component choices followed his vision: SRAM Red AXS E1 with power meter, Scope Artech 6 wheels with CeramicSpeed ceramic bearings, CS Alpha bottom bracket, and a Framesandgear derailleur hanger and computer mount in gold for a subtle finishing touch. The chain received a hot wax treatment with CeramicSpeed UFO before delivery. He collected the bike, rode the nearby valleys to dial it in, then went straight for the iconic Tour de France climbs.
