Colnago Atlante: 70 Years of Colnago History
Some cycling books tell you what happened. Atlante Colnago tells you who was there.
Seventy years of Colnago history cannot be reduced to a list of victories, frames and dates.
There are the races, of course. The legendary riders. The inn ovations. The unmistakable Colnago bicycles and frames that became part of cycling history.
But behind every one of them, there are people.
Atlante Colnago is the first editorial project from Colnago Cultura, created to tell the story of the Cambiago brand through the voices of those who experienced it firsthand: riders, journalists, photographers and engineers.
Across 24 stories and more than 300 archival photographs, the book travels through seven decades of Colnago — from the early Freccia to the latest Colnago C72 — revealing the people, bicycles and moments behind some of the most iconic models in cycling history.
Among the contributors are international cycling journalists and photographers including Daniel Friebe, Marco Pastonesi, Rupert Guinness, Matt Rendell and Philippe Brunel, alongside forewords by Eddy Merckx, Melissa Moncada and Nicola Rosin.
And then there are the bicycles.
52 iconic Colnago models are presented with dedicated technical sheets, creating a visual journey through the evolution of Colnago frames, technology and design.
With 480 large-format pages, a hardcover binding and a custom faux-silk slipcase, Atlante Colnago feels less like a book to put on a shelf and more like a collector's object to keep.
Only 2,000 copies have been produced.
For anyone fascinated by Colnago's racing heritage, iconic frames and history, Atlante Colnago offers a rare opportunity to discover the stories behind the name — from the people who built the brand to the bicycles that shaped its legacy.
Atlante Colnago is now available at Cicli Corsa.
