This is the fourth build we've completed for one of our most loyal American clients and a founding member of Collettivo Cicli Corsa. His collection already includes a Cinelli Pressure, a Colnago C68 Titanium, a Pinarello Dogma F and a Basso Palta III. Each one chosen with purpose. Each one built with care. This time, he came to us with a very specific brief — and one of the most beautiful reference points we've ever worked with.

The Inspiration: A Porsche 911 GT2 RS in Fashion Grau

The client owns a Porsche 911 GT2 RS in Fashion Grau — one of Porsche's most distinctive and understated special colours. The request was clear: build a Colnago Y1Rs that matches it. Not as a gimmick, but as a genuine aesthetic extension of something he already loves.

We sent the frame to our trusted painter with a precise brief: Fashion Grau base, matte black Colnago logos, full gloss finish on both frame and fork. The result is exactly what we had in mind — a colour that shifts between grey and silver depending on the light, with a depth that photographs cannot fully capture.

We didn't stop at the frame. The Campagnolo WTO Ultra 45 wheels received the same treatment — custom graphics recreated from scratch and painted in Fashion Grau to match the frame perfectly. Every detail considered. Nothing left to chance.

Position Analysis & Technical Precision

A custom paint job is only half the story. The other half is making sure the bike actually fits.

We started from the client's existing bike fit data and ran it through our size comparison process — a method we've refined across hundreds of builds — to identify the optimal configuration for a race-oriented position that would let him transfer every watt to the road.

The result: Y1Rs size M, with a 105mm stem and 377mm cockpit width. A setup that puts him in an aggressive aerodynamic posture without sacrificing comfort over long efforts.
