New Sarto Cima: the handmade Italian climbing bike that blends race soul and endurance comfort

Back

"Where the road ends": that is the tagline Sarto has chosen to launch the new Cima, the model that occupies the most evocative territory in the Venetian brand's catalogue — long mountain ascents. But calling it a pure climber's bike would sell it short.

The Cima was designed for riders who refuse to choose between responsiveness and comfort, between speed and the sheer pleasure of riding.

In Sarto's own words, it is not an endurance bike that tolerates race compromises, but a race bike riders can stay on all day long.

New carbon fibers, same artisan philosophy

At the heart of the project is a new package of carbon fibers (UD, Tri-Composite and Forged Carbon) that allowed the frame builders to reduce wall thickness wherever the frame could afford it, while leaving the structural sections untouched.

The declared result is a frame that is lighter, stiffer and more responsive, as well as more aerodynamic than its predecessor at the head tube, down tube and seat tube.

Construction remains the signature of the workshop based in Mellaredo di Pianiga, near Venice: tube-to-tube, with hand-wrapped joints bonded with a specific resin that interrupts vibration transfer through the frame. A detail that, Sarto promises, you feel on the road before you ever see it in the data.

The diamond profile

The visual hallmark of the new Sarto Cima is the "diamond" profile of the head tube and down tube: flat faces blended into soft edges, born as an aesthetic choice and later validated by its aerodynamic behavior.

The name itself is an acronym: Create (everything originates in-house, from geometry to lamination), Interaction (stiffness, power and damping engineered as a single system), Material (the new carbon layup) and Ascension (more control and stability thanks to how the weight was saved — not in spite of it).

Geometry: endurance, evolved

The geometry tells the story of the bike's dual character: tall stack, short reach, short and very stiff chainstays. A position riders can hold over long distances, with nothing taken away from the bike's snap when the road tilts upward.

The specifications are thoroughly current without chasing trends: T47×86 bottom bracket, 1½"–1½" headset, integrated cockpit with hidden-bolt system and a -8° stem, UDH derailleur hanger, tire clearance up to 35 mm and seven sizes from XXS to XXL — bearing in mind that every Sarto can be built fully made to measure.

Five finishes inspired by the Alps

The Cima's color palette stems from observing the Alpine landscape: five Flavoured finishes — Amber Ridge, Zenith Cyan, Glacial Depth, Stellar Silver and Summit Ruby — joined by the Minimal option, the lightest in the range, and the Tailor program for fully bespoke graphics and paintwork.

The Sarto Cima is available at Cicli Corsa

A product with this level of customization being sold online is, in itself, something of a novelty. But those who know us know that Cicli Corsa is not your typical eCommerce moving boxes around: as an official Sarto Bikes dealer, customization sits at the very center of what we offer. Most of our sales come after an exchange with the customer — sometimes a long one: answering every question, clearing every doubt, giving advice and accommodating special requests. That is what we do.

And with made-to-measure products, what we are proudest of comes into play: a background that includes biomechanics expertise and the reading and interpretation of bike fit reports. The fitter's prescriptions, the rider's needs and the character of the new bike merge into a single, perfect product — one that can fully satisfy its new owner.
