It starts with the frame. Not a predetermined size and design to adapt to, but a unique project made just for you and your needs.
De Rosa is one of the last great names in cycling that still produces custom-made frames in Italy, entirely personalized at its historic headquarters in Cusano Milanino, on the outskirts of Milan.
In this case, the choice falls on titanium, a precious material that combines incredible lightness and rigidity, maintaining the look and tactile sensation that only metal tubes can provide.
The titanium alloy used for the tubing is Grade 9: it combines reduced weight with superior mechanical properties for high performance and corrosion resistance. Because even though you can choose the paint finish you prefer, nothing beats the visual impact of raw brushed metal.
The first phase goes through Cicli Corsa: customers provide their biometric measurements, the type of usage and activity they intend to do (whether endurance or pure racing), and with this data, the geometry is configured through our design programs. To balance looks and dynamic characteristics, you can choose a perfectly horizontal top tube or one with sloping.
You decide the type of transmission (mechanical or electronic) and brakes (rim or disc) you intend to use, to equip the frame with the correct mounts for assembly. Furthermore, there’s the possibility of integrated cables and provisions for extra accessories, such as holes for bottle cages or mounts for lighting systems and bikepacking.
At this point, the files created by the technical staff of Cicli Corsa are sent to De Rosa, who builds the frame, unique and like no other.
After 4-5 months, the Anima Titanio arrives at our workshop for assembly. And even here, customization knows no bounds.
In the bike we present, the customer has chosen the top for each detail for a dreamlike result, without compromises, in perfect balance between elegant design and top performance.
For example, the SRAM Red AXS electronic groupset is embellished with a single-chainring Cane Creek eeWings crankset and titanium axle, which matches the same brushed metal finish as the frame.
The wheels are Princeton Grit 4045 with Tune hubs, fitted with tubeless Pirelli Race TLR 28 Classic tires.
An evocative touch is found in the Selle Italia SLR Boost saddle with carbon rails and honey-colored Nubuck suede covering, the same as the tape covering the handlebar with integrated Deda Alanera carbon fiber stem.
There you have it: this is, for us, the definition of a dream bike. Complete customization in geometries, materials, and components.
