The Master

Its January 27th today and we’re about to leave the off-season behind and maybe some of us have already started to look for short sleeve jerseys, new shoes and new bikes.

But this is a digression……

27th January deserves recognition for a very special reason, which has a great impact on cycling industry:

This date marks the birthday of Ugo De Rosa.

The man who has given his name, soul and of course heart to a brand.

Whilst we were walking among the frames he personally built, he mentioned that he still remembers the memories he had with them regarding the making process.

Having worked with many legendary cyclists in the past, it's obvious that he has a lot to tell about that era of cycling. He couldn’t hide his big smile once he heard the name of Eddy Merckx, who is well-known with his obsession and attention to the detail with his bike geometry.

Seeing his name on the Campagnolo Delta brakes was surely not a surprise considering the design trends in those years.

Happy birthday Ugo, the master, one year older and still just as passionate for his brand since its inception.
