De Rosa Protos
We recently had the pleasure of testing the new De Rosa Protos disc, equipped with the new Campagnolo 12v group. This is the perfect bike for those who want to compete in the race.
How does it ride?
This model is real all-rounder and suitable for racing and granfondistas alike. We took the bike and tested it out on the beautiful slopes of Morterone near to Lake Como. The frame is firstly light (920g) and the lack of mass is really noticeable when the road starts to point upward. Overall, the reactivity of the Protos alongside a high level of comfort makes this model perfect for all types of riders.

We were also lucky enough to try out Campagnolo's 12 speed Super Record disc groupset. Given the amount of work they've in invested into the 12 speed technology, there will be no surprise to announce that the performance of the transmission is highly refined and the shifting is beautifully slick. The disc brakes are powerful and well modulated, the simplicity of adjustment is remarkable. As a riding experience, there are obvious improvements to the levers, hoods and shift action and shift speed, compared to the 11 speed model. These upgrades reinvigorate this top tier groupset, and make it at least the equal of it's competitors.
