Veloflex is a historical Italian company, located in Bergamo, started out in 1981 making rubber and plastic parts for printers of all things. But the two owners of the company were passionate cyclists and it wasn’t long before they turned their knowledge of rubber into producing some of the best tyres in the world. Their profession is manufacturing bicycle tires with the best possible way by having incredible attention to the details. All the tires of Veloflex are made as they used to 70 years ago, but with today’s advanced materials.

All their tubulars (both traditional and ‘open’ tubular tires, also known as clincher tires) are made by hand in their laboratory in Presezzo (in the province of Bergamo) and produced one by one through artisan processes. Here we'd like to highlight the fact that all the manufacturing processes are done by ten women employees. This must be the hidden explanation of their tires' consistency.

As a matter of fact, the production of a tubular involves 35 operations, starting off with the raw material and the different components (yarn, latex, rubber, glue, valves). Also, producing a tubular takes three times longer than making a clincher tire (open tubular).

Veloflex had many collaborations with the professional cycling teams through the history. In the last few years their products have won at over ten major competitions, such as Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España.

Today Veloflex offers more than 15 different tires, including tubulars and open tubulars, to the world of cycling. The ones, who look for the best riding experience on the road, choose their high level tires.
