Has Aerodynamics Gone Too Far? Discover the Wilier Supersonica SLR
The Wilier Supersonica SLR is the ultimate speed, engineering, and aerodynamics machine in the world of professional time trial bikes.
The geometry has been optimized, also to accommodate larger tires, resulting in greater comfort and more traction in extreme situations.
To aid aerodynamics, the cabling is now fully integrated and if that's not enough, the frame is now even lighter.
A more aggressive aesthetic, larger and aerodynamic tubing, a cleaner cable free front end and increased tire clearance.
For the cabling, this passes through the handlebar and close to the stem through a channel on the underside which is covered by a faceplate.
This facilitates easy assembly and will simplify maintenance in the future.
The seatpost is now locked in place via the second generation Basso 3B system, made with a new vulcanized flange and a rubber gusset that helps absorb vibrations, so as to improve the riding experience by elevating comfort on uneven surfaces.
The new Palta features a more open head tube angle (70 °) allowing for superior control even in the most demanding situations and wheel clearance is increased both for the front and rear.
The seat tube is more vertical while the top tube is increased by 10mm and is combined with a slightly shorter stem. This creates a more upright position for the rider which guarantees security and, more importantly, fun on uneven terrain.
